General information
Tritace contains a potent ingredient called Ramipril. It belongs to the group of angiotensin converting enzyme (ACE) inhibitors. It is aimed to decrease the production of angiotensin II and also to reduce the breakdown of bradykinin; therefore it relaxes arterial muscles and amplifies the arteries allowing the heart to pump blood more easily. Ramipril is converted to the active metabolite ramiprilat by liver esterase enzymes. It is used to treat hypertension and congestive heart failure; it prevents heart attacks, diabetic nephropathy with microalbuminuria, and a risk of myocardial infarction in patients over 55 years old. It reduces proteinuria and prevents kidney diseases in patients with nephropathies.
