Mobic (Meloxicam)

General information

Meloxicam is a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID). Meloxicam works by reducing hormones that cause inflammation and pain in the body.

Directions

Take exactly as prescribed by your doctor. Your doctor may occasionally change your dose to make sure you get the best results. It should be taken with a glass of water, with or without food. Do not crush or chew an extended-release tablet. Swallow it whole. Follow your doctor's instructions.

Precautions

Do not drink alcohol. Be careful if you drive or do anything that requires you to be alert. Avoid using if you have an allergy, liver or kidney illness. Do not use this medication without telling your doctor if you are pregnant or breast-feeding. Be careful when taking the medicine along with lithium supplements.

Contraindications

Avoid usind the drug if yoy have the allergic reaction to Mobic.

Possible side effect

The drug may cause dry mouth, giddy, petulance, sedation, sleeplessness or ischuria. Call your doctor for medical advice about side effects.

Drug interaction

Before using it, tell your doctor if you regularly use other medicines such as aspirin, medicines for pain, warfarin or anticoagulants. Consult your doctor or pharmacist for additional information.

Missed dose

Take the missed dose as soon as possible. Skip the missed dose if it is time for your next scheduled dose. Do not take extra medicine to make up the missed dose.

Overdose

If you think you have overdosed the medicine seek emergency medical help at once. Overdose symptoms may include sickness, chest pain, breaker heartbeat or giddiness.

Storage

Store your medicines at room temperature between 68-77 degrees F (20-25 degrees C). Store away from moisture and light. Keep it out of the reach of children and away from pets.
