Ibuprofen (Ibuprofen)

General information

Ibuprofen is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug. It is prescribed for treatment of symptoms of arthritis, primary dysmenorrhea, fever. It has an antiplatelet effect.

Directions

It is recommended to take the medicine as it was prescribed by your doctor. Take it with a glass of water. Swallow pill the whole. Do not exceed the recommended dose.

Precautions

Before starting your treatment with Ibuprofen tell your doctor if you have allergy to the medicine, Parkinson's disease, kidney or liver disease, high blood pressure; if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. Do not take alcoholic beverages or smoke. Middle aged people can be more sensitive to the medicine.

Contraindications

Patients with sodium-sensitive hypertension and hypersensitivity to Ibuprofen can't use the medicine.

Possible side effect

Side effects can be the following: dry mouth, dizziness, irritability, sedation, insomnia, urinary retention. Serious side effects are unlikely to occur. If necessary seek emergency medical help at once.

Drug interaction

Ibuprofen interacts with the following medicines: NSAIDs of the salicylate family and anticoagulants. Consult your doctor or pharmacist for additional information.

Missed dose

Take the missed dose as soon as possible. If it is almost time of the next intake just skip it and go back to your schedule.

Overdose

If you think you have overdosed the medicine seek emergency medical help at once. The overdose symptoms are chest pain, nausea, irregular heartbeat, and feeling light-headed or fainting.

Storage

Store the medicine at room temperature between 68-77 degrees F (20-25 degrees C) away from light and moisture. Keep all drugs away from reach of children and pets.
