General information

Cataflam is a non steroidal anti inflammatory drug (NSAID). The main component of Cataflam is diclofenac. This medicine works by reducing substances in the body that cause pain inflammation. Diclofenac is used to treat pain or inflammation caused by arthritis or ankylosing spondylitis. Do not use this medication to treat a cluster headache. Cataflam will only treat a headache that has already begun. It will not prevent headaches or reduce the number of attacks.

Directions

Take Cataflam exactly as prescribed by your doctor. For treatment of pain or primary dysmenorrhea the recommended dosage is 50 mg t.i.d. For the relief of osteoarthritis the recommended dosage is 100-150 mg/day in divided doses. For the relief of rheumatoid arthritis the recommended dosage is 150-200 mg/day in divided doses. Swallow the pill whole. If you use this medication long-term, your liver function will need to be checked with frequent blood tests.
